On 26th April 2023, this online learning event brought researchers from the University of Nairobi, the University of Pisa, the University of Oxford and the University of Yaoundé I to speak on water and climate and answer questions from a diverse audience of schools, environment and education sector professionals and university students. The event explored why understanding the water cycle, and how we interact with it, is important to climate science and groundwater management.
It was great to see many of the Water Learning Partnership schools in Cameroon joining the event as well as people from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria and Zambia. Thanks to our speakers - the students of PCSS Bonamoussadi Environment Club, Professor Daniel Olago, Professor Viviana Re, Dr Ellen Dyer and Dr Wilfried Pokam, and to the Rural Water Supply Network for hosting the event.
